1. Design Daily 12

Juxtaposition. The contrasting themes of life and death, co-existing seamlessly in the same world as reality has it.

GI Independent. I wanted to try and light a scene without depending on Global Illumination - this is the result.

  3. Design Daily 10

Fast & Furious. I wanted to work on the speed of my designing while keeping the quality the same, so I thought this theme would be suitable, no?

  4. Design Daily 09

A Boy & His Dragon. Today’s daily design was pretty spontaneous, and I know I could have comped it better but it was more a test of speed than finesse. I found everything and put this one together in about 25 minutes.

Lost in Space. So, this design daily isn’t the same vector style that I’ve been doing recently but I wanted to do some compositing today and somehow space became a theme, so I ran with it. As much as I’m enjoying doing the vector styled things, I miss this kinda stuff too.

Colourful Bird. Such a pretty little thing.

  7. Design Daily 06

Abstract #3.Today I felt like just making a shape and adding light to it (or at least give it the illusion that it’s lit, regardless of the lighting being wrong or not haha).

Royalty. Today I played my first poker game (for money - I’ve played poker for fun before) and won! So I decided to base my design today about this.

Squawk! These damn pigs just don’t quit huh?

  10. Design Daily 03

Strange Fruit. It’s not every day you come across fruit like this.

  11. Design Daily 02

Continuing with my daily vector illustrations, today’s subject is Yeezy Bear. Still keeping it simple :)

  12. Design Daily 01

Today at work, while I had some down time I figured out what I wanted to do for my daily design project - minimalistic vector illustrations. I had opened up illustrator and made a little scene of mountains and I had just simply enjoyed the entire process of making it. In the end I scrapped it because there were a few obvious flaws, but I knew I had stumbled upon gold. So taking a step back and starting out small, my very first Design Daily is of a very well known cartoon character… I’ll leave it up to you to guess who he is ;). At some point, I hope to somehow create my own unique illustration style and eventually implement it into a video or even a video game (Shapes & Sound: The Shape Shooter is out on Android now!).

A few days ago I posted that I was going to do a daily 1 second animation. I started and I realized that I simply just don’t have the time to do it and it would have been more frustrating than fun. So, after a lot of deliberation, I found something better to do :). I’ve always been intrigued by vector illustrations, and so I’m going to make a daily illustration instead of a video in my own little illustrated minimalistic style.

Follow me as I embark on my journey and witness me grow :). I am excited.

  14. “Euphoria [WIP]”

    by Graham Reid

Euphoria is a mental and emotional condition in which a person experiences intense feelings of well-being, elation, happiness, excitement, and joy. This is the ideal visual representation of this phenomenon.

This is a quick model that I made and lit today spontaneously and decided that I really like it alot, so much so that I now have multiple ideas about where I can take it. I swear, I am loving Cinema 4D more and more each day.
